Buffalo Wings

Description

A much loved American classic that is a must try for all lovers of hot and spicy food. A great appetiser! Buffalo Wings is available at cafes, bars and restaurants right across the United States and are routinely prepared and enjoyed in many American homes before the Super Bowl.

Coating

  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1/2 tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp ground Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (optional)
  • Hot Sauce

  • 50 grams Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Hot Sauce (franks or alternative)
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Chicken

  • Oil for deep frying
  • 500 grams Chicken Wings (chicken nibbles)
  • Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing (dipping sauces)
  • Instructions
    1. Mix all ingredients in the coatings section together in a bowl and set aside.
    2. Place the ingredients for the hot sauce in a small pot and bring to a simmer over a medium heat, and then set aside.
    3. Coat the chicken pieces in the prepared coating with a pair of tongs and set aside on a board or baking sheet. Heat the oil for frying to 350F.
    4. Cook the chicken nibbles in the hot oil for 6-8 minutes. Cook until the chicken is cooked through, and golden brown and crispy.
    5. Remove the chicken from the hot oil and place in a seperate bowl or serving dish. Once all the chicken is cooked pour the hot sauce over the chicken wings and mix to make sure the chicken is well coated in the hot sauce.
    6. Serve with your favourite choice of dipping sauce. Blue cheese and/or ranch dipping sauce are popular choices for this dish. Enjoy!
